Crust: -2 cups flour (I used whole-wheat pastry flour, almond flour doesn't work well with the recipe) -2 tsp cinnamon -2 tsp pumpkin spice -3/4 cup cold grassfed butter (salted) -6 tbsp of ice water
Filling: -4 sliced apple (can chop into cubes as well) -2 tsp cinnamon -2 tsp pumpkin spiced -1/4 cup coconut sugar -2 tbsp grass-fed butter (melted) -1 1/2 tbsp whole-wheat pastry flour
Preparation:
Begin with preparing your crust mix together the flour, cinnamon, pumpkin spice and then add in the cold butter. Combine them using a fork or your hands. The crust will feel flaky, next add in 1 tbsp of ice water at a time until the crust feels more formed, and easy to work with. Divide the crust into two portions, one slightly larger than the other. Using a rolling pin open the crust up into the shape you want to fit into your pie pan. Place the crust inside your pan of choice and set aside. Next gather your sliced apples and toss them in a bowel with the cinnamon, pumpkin spice, coconut sugar, and *melted grass-fed butter. Toss it in the 1 1/2 tbsp whole-wheat pastry flour and pour the apple mixture on top of your crust. Next using the other portion of your pie crust you can either open it up with a rolling pin and place it over the top of the pie, or cut the crust into tin strips and design your pie to your liking!
-Bake for about 45-50 minutes on 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
